  • Nearly half of HR professionals report that using AI has become a higher priority over the last year.

  • By the end of 2024, 76% of HR leaders believe AI solutions will be necessary to avoid falling behind other companies.

Recruiting and Talent Acquisition

  • 65% of organizations using AI in recruiting use it to generate job descriptions.

  • 42% use AI to customize job postings.

  • 33% use AI to review resumes, communicate with applicants or automate candidate searches.

  • AI-assisted recruiting solutions are accelerating the hiring process, with some companies even adopting virtual reality for remote hiring and interviews with bots.

People Analytics and Data Management

AI-powered chatbots are being used to handle routine inquiries and tasks. For example, Taboola uses an AI chatbot named "Sasha" to handle candidate interview scheduling, which has been so effective that new hires often ask to meet "Sasha" in person.

Challenges and Considerations

While AI offers numerous benefits, HR professionals must be mindful of several challenges:

  1. Data Quality: Ensuring clean, unbiased data is crucial for effective AI implementation, especially for large language models and chatbots.

  2. Job Displacement Concerns: 24% of HR professionals worry that AI may lead to job displacement.

  3. However, those currently using AI are 16 times more likely to say it's transforming existing jobs rather than replacing them.

  4. Ethical Use and Governance: HR professionals must address concerns about data security, over-reliance on unproven technology, and maintaining control over the implementation process.

Reskilling and Upskilling: Preparing the workforce for AI adoption is critical. In the technology industry, 32% of job roles and 69% of headcount are at risk of significant disruption from AI.

Future Outlook

The impact of AI on HR is expected to grow significantly:

  • HR tech vendors are rapidly incorporating AI capabilities, making retrieving information and gaining insights from HR systems easier.

  • Custom AI solutions built by in-house teams are emerging to meet specific organizational needs.

  • AI is predicted to redefine the recruiter's role, potentially evolving it into a more strategic talent advisor position.

As AI continues to reshape HR, professionals in the field must adapt quickly. They must leverage AI to enhance human capabilities rather than replace them entirely.
